This small sculptural bench was placed here in memory to the servicemen and women who served as part of Operation Banner (1969 – 2007). This was the operational name for the British Armed Forces’ deployment in Northern Ireland from August 1969 to July 2007. It was the longest continuous deployment in the British military’s history. It was unveiled in 2013.
