It is located in East Belfast near George Best airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The idea of creating a public park near the Connswater River in east Belfast was first suggested by the Harbour Commissioners in 1854.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was landscaped by Charles McKimm, who also built the Tropical Ravine in&nbsp;Botanic Gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Victoria Park is today open 24 hours, seven days a week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The park has a lake which is home to water birds such as swans, geese, ducks, herons and migrant waders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are two walking trails around the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The playing fields&nbsp;have soccer pitches, a bowling green and a cycling and BMX track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FOR MORE INFORMATION on guided walking tours around Belfast visit this .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Victoria Park&nbsp;was opened in 1906 and built on reclaimed land from Belfast Lough.
