These busts were of leading store patrons, celebrities and public figures popular when the store was constructed in the 1880s and included Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and the Emperor and Empress of Germany.<a id=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you look carefully, one head is missing (see below). This is the head of Victoria, \u00a0German Empress\u00a0and\u00a0Queen of Prussia\u00a0and wife of\u00a0German Emperor Frederick III.\u00a0 She was the eldest child of\u00a0Queen Victoria and married Frederick III and gave birth to Wilhelm who became Wilhelm II, German Emperor at the outbreak of war in 1914..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"section-gc2ed9c\" class=\"wp-block-gutentor-e6 section-gc2ed9c gutentor-element gutentor-element-image\"><div class=\"gutentor-element-image-box\"><div class=\"gutentor-image-thumb\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"normal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/drtomstours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Close-up.jpg\" \/><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her image was hacked off by an angry mob at the outbreak of the Great War in a show of anti-German feeling caused by outbreak of War in August 1914.<a id=\"_ftnref2\" href=\"#_ftn2\">[2]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"section-gcced18\" class=\"wp-block-gutentor-e6 section-gcced18 gutentor-element gutentor-element-image\"><div class=\"gutentor-element-image-box\"><div class=\"gutentor-image-thumb\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"normal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/drtomstours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/330px-Empress_Viktoria_of_Germany_1840-1901.png\" \/><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you want to learn more?
