The three steel cut-out figures represent a shipyard worker who helped build the Nomadic, a French waiter who served on the Nomadic and Charlie Chaplin, possibly her most famous passenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This sculpture was erected as part of the Sustrans Portrait Bench series, a UK wide public art project which is unique to each area and comprises of a wooden bench with three full sized silhouettes of people who have made a relevant contribution to the local community, culture or history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
