{"id":701,"date":"2021-10-28T13:19:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-28T13:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drtomstours.com\/?p=701"},"modified":"2021-11-09T17:45:02","modified_gmt":"2021-11-09T17:45:02","slug":"gift-of-life-sculpture-botanic-gardens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drtomstours.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/28\/gift-of-life-sculpture-botanic-gardens\/","title":{"rendered":"Gift of life sculpture, Botanic Gardens"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In Botanic Gardens, in Belfast\u2019s Queen\u2019s Quarter, stands the Gift of Life sculpture commemorating those who have given people a chance to live through organ donation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The candle-shaped memorial was placed in the Gardens in June 2016 and gifted to the city of Belfast by the Galway Civic Trust on behalf of the city of Galway<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The sculpture was commissioned by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.organdonation.ie\/\">Strange Boat Donor Foundation<\/a>. This foundation was set up by Denis and Martina Goggin following the death of their son, \u00c9amonn in a car accident in 2006.
