Delighted to announce that I’m leading five guided walks of Belfast as part of the Queen’s University Belfast’s Open Learning programme for the 2022 spring term.
The walks will explore different areas of Belfast to uncover its complex and fascinating history through its built environment and public art.
These tours cover (1) Belfast’s medical history; (2) Belfast’s maritime past; (3) the people and places that have shaped the history of the Linen and Cathedral Quarters; (4) the religious, municipal and commercial architecture of the city centre; and (5) the buildings, gardens and public art of the Queen’s Quarter.

These walks are a general introduction Belfast’s past as show in its architecture, built heritage and urban environment. They are aimed at those with a general interest in history rather than experts, enjoy walking in the city and discovering something new about the place in which they live.
The walks will start on the 25 May 2022 and finish on the 22June. They start at 18.30 and end at 20.30.
