St Malachy’s Catholic Church, Alfred St

St Malachy’s Church was constructed in 1840 and designed by Thomas Jackson in the Tudor Revival style.  It is reminiscent of Queen’s College in having Tutor arches, being of brick construction and Elizabethan symmetry. It also has touches of Gothic revivalism such as towers, crenelations and arrow slits. It is the third oldest church in Belfast.
