Titanic Hotel, former Harland and Wolff drawing rooms

The Titanic Hotel is a luxury hotel. It website says it is ‘located at the heart of Belfast’s Titanic Quarter, the legendary Harland & Wolff Headquarters and Drawing Offices is now the world’s most authentic Titanic hotel, offering an unforgettable experience for anyone visiting Northern Ireland on business or for a Belfast city break holiday’.

The Hotel is built in the old Harland and Wolff Drawing Rooms that were used to design ships for construction in the shipyard. Over 1,600 ships were built in the yard during its existence from the 1850s to the early 2000s.

The Drawing Offices were built in the late 1880s when Harland and Wolff was emerging as one of the world’s leading shipbuilders.

They were north facing to capture as much natural light as possible.

The splendour of the Drawing Offices was designed to reflect the elegance of Harland & Wolff’s ships and created an enticing shop window for prospective clients.
