• Your booking is confirmed once payment is received by bank transfer (BACS) or cash and written confirmation is issued.
• If you book directly with Dr Tom’s Tours, cancellations must be made in writing at least 24 hours before the tour start time to be considered.
• If you book through a third-party website or reseller, their cancellation rules apply and you must contact them directly.
• Tours run in most weather conditions. Northern Ireland weather can be wet, windy and cold, so please dress appropriately.
• Walking tours can cover several kilometres and involve uneven ground. You must be fit and well enough to take part.
• Some tour routes may not have access to public toilets. Please plan ahead.
• If you do not arrive on time, the guide will wait up to 20 minutes. After that, the tour will not run and no refund will be given.
• Traffic in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland drives on the left. Please take extra care near roads.
• You must follow the guide’s instructions and behave respectfully towards others and local residents.
• Photographs may be taken during the tour by the guide for marketing unless you tell us in advance that you do not wish to be included.
• Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
General Terms and Conditions

1. Definitions
“We”, “us” and “our” means Dr Tom’s Tours, the tour guide or tour operating business providing the services.
“You”, “your” and “client” means the person making the booking and all members of their party.
“Tour” means any guided walking tour, coach tour or related service provided by us.
“Guide” means the individual appointed by us to lead the tour.
2. Booking and Payment
2.1 A booking is deemed confirmed and binding once written confirmation has been issued and payment has been received in full, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2.2 Payment is currently accepted by bank transfer (BACS) or cash only. Accepted payment methods may change and will be confirmed at the time of booking.
2.3 Entrance fees, meals, refreshments, accommodation and gratuities are not included unless expressly specified.
2.4 For walking tours, the recommended maximum group size is 15 participants per guide. Larger groups may require additional guides at an additional cost.
3. Cancellations, Refunds and No-Shows
3.1 Direct bookings with Dr Tom’s Tours
Bookings made directly with Dr Tom’s Tours may only be cancelled by providing written notice to us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the tour.
3.2 Third-party bookings
Where a booking is made through a third-party reseller or platform, including but not limited to Airbnb, TripAdvisor, Viator or GetYourGuide, the cancellation and refund terms of that provider apply. Dr Tom’s Tours cannot cancel or amend such bookings on your behalf and any refunds are handled by the party that sold the ticket.
3.3 Private and bespoke tours
• Where a tour is booked more than 7 days before commencement, cancellations made more than 7 days before the tour date may be eligible for a refund, less any non-refundable booking or administration fees and any costs already incurred.
• Where a tour is booked less than 7 days before commencement, cancellations must be made no later than halfway between the booking date and the tour start date in order to be considered for a refund.
• Cancellations made after this point, and all no-shows, are non-refundable.
3.4 Any refund agreed by Dr Tom’s Tours will only be made to the original purchaser and only in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or where agreed in writing by us.
4. Changes and Force Majeure
4.1 We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to routes, itineraries, timings or guides where required for operational, safety or external reasons.
4.2 Tours operate in most weather conditions and will only be cancelled where conditions are unsafe or where directed by relevant authorities.
4.3 We are not liable for cancellations, delays or changes arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, strikes, public disturbances, road closures, acts of God, acts of terrorism or security-related situations.
4.4 Where we cancel a tour, our liability is limited to a refund of the amount paid to Dr Tom’s Tours for that tour.
5. Health, Fitness and Safety
5.1 You are responsible for ensuring that you and your party are physically fit and medically able to take part in the tour.
5.2 Walking tours may involve uneven surfaces, inclines, road crossings and extended periods of walking. Coach tours may include boarding and alighting from vehicles and short walks.
5.3 Appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn at all times. Weather conditions in Northern Ireland can be variable, wet and cold.
5.4 Walking routes may cover several kilometres and some areas may not have access to public toilets. Participants should plan accordingly.
5.5 You must disclose any relevant medical conditions, mobility issues or special requirements prior to the tour.
5.6 Participation is at your own risk. You must follow all reasonable instructions given by the guide at all times.
5.7 You must comply with all applicable laws and safety requirements in Northern Ireland, including traffic regulations and the wearing of seat belts on coaches where legally required.
5.8 Traffic in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland drives on the left-hand side of the road. If this is unfamiliar to you, extra care must be taken when crossing roads. A guide crossing the road does not mean it is safe for you to do so.
6. Liability
6.1 Dr Tom’s Tours is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal property during a tour. All personal belongings are carried at your own risk.
6.2 We are not liable for any loss, damage, injury or illness arising from a participant’s failure to follow the guide’s instructions or from any pre-existing medical or psychological condition.
6.3 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss or damage unless caused by our negligence.
6.4 Our total liability in contract, tort or otherwise is limited to the amount paid to Dr Tom’s Tours for the tour.
6.5 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
7. Conduct and Right of Refusal
7.1 Participants must behave in a manner that does not endanger others or detract from the enjoyment of the tour.
7.2 We reserve the right to refuse participation, remove a participant or terminate a tour where behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, intoxicated, offensive or non-compliant with instructions.
7.3 This includes behaviour that is disrespectful to local residents, businesses or people in the areas visited.
7.4 No refund will be given where a participant is removed or a tour is ended due to inapppriate or unacceptable conduct.
